Cristiano Ronaldo was born on 5 February 1985, making him 41 years old as of June 2026. In 2024, he became the first men's player to score 900 career goals in official matches, a number that has only grown since. At an age when most footballers have long retired, Ronaldo continues to compete at the top level for both Al-Nassr and Portugal.

He has confirmed the 2026 World Cup, hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, will "definitely" be his last, closing out a career that has spanned over two decades at the very top of the sport.

Where Is Cristiano Ronaldo From?

Ronaldo was born in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He grew up in a working-class family in the Santo António neighbourhood of Funchal, one of the city's poorest areas, as the youngest of four siblings. His mother worked as a cook, while his father served as a gardener and part-time kit man for local club Andorinha, where Ronaldo's own football journey began.

At just 12 years old, he left Madeira for Lisbon to join Sporting CP's academy, a move that marked the real beginning of his rise from a small Atlantic island to global football stardom.

Where Does Cristiano Ronaldo Live?

Ronaldo currently lives in Saudi Arabia, where he plays for Al-Nassr. He moved there with his family after signing with the club in January 2023. Over the course of his career, his homes have shifted alongside his clubs — from Madrid to Turin, then Manchester, and now Riyadh — with each city marking a different chapter of his playing career.

Despite living abroad for most of his adult life, his connection to Madeira has never faded. He and his family are planning to marry in his home city of Funchal, a clear sign of how strongly his roots still anchor him.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo Married?

Not yet, but he will be soon. Ronaldo and long-term partner Georgina Rodríguez got engaged in August 2025, after a relationship that began in Madrid back in 2016. Ronaldo confirmed the wedding will take place in September 2026, right after the World Cup, telling interviewer Piers Morgan, "We'll get married after the World Cup. And I hope to arrive at my wedding with the champion's trophy."

The couple has chosen to hold the ceremony in Funchal, Madeira, returning to the place where Ronaldo's story first began. Together, they are raising five children: Cristiano Jr., twins Eva and Mateo, Alana, and Bella.
